Introducing the 16 x 10ft Tanalised Wooden Summerhouse from Midlands Sheds and Summerhouse, a splendid fusion of aesthetics, durability, and functionality. This unique summerhouse, crafted from Tanalised Swedish Redwood, is not just an outdoor retreat; it’s a garden centrepiece that enhances your outdoor space.
This summerhouse features a robust framework of Tanalised 72mm x 42mm (3’x2′) CLS, providing a sturdy structure designed to stand the test of time. The same material is used for the Floor Bearers and Roof Joists, ensuring consistent stability throughout the structure.
The walls are constructed from 19mm Tanalised finished T/G Cladding, offering excellent protection against the elements and ensuring the longevity of your summerhouse. The roof, made from 13mm tongue and groove boards, ensures effective water runoff, keeping the interior dry and well-protected.
With an eave height of approximately 6.6ft and an apex height of around 8ft, our summerhouse offers ample headroom, creating a spacious and airy atmosphere.
Access to the summerhouse is through a 4ft wide double door, fitted with galvanised t hinges for added durability. The summerhouse also features four 5ft by 18inch toughened glass windows, allowing natural light to flood in while providing picturesque views of your garden.
A standout feature of this summerhouse is its Log Lap effect – a design element that adds a rustic charm to the structure. The roof is covered with super heavy-duty polyester felt weighing 40 kg, providing superior protection against harsh weather.

Preparation and Preservation
To ensure the longevity and stability of your new 16 x 10ft Tanalised Wooden Summerhouse, it must be positioned on a solid, level base made of concrete or paving slabs. Following installation, we highly recommend treating your building to preserve its quality and appearance. Due to the treatment used to preserve your timber structure, you may note a green colour to the wood. Please use outdoor wood stain to preserve and enhance the beauty of your building.
Optional Extras
We take pride in our ability to tailor all our buildings to our customer’s unique specifications. Our experienced craftsmen have the expertise and facilities to create your new shed in any design or size you desire. We can even customise the placement of windows and doors to best suit your needs and preferences.
Information On The Process Of Tanalising:
Your 16 x 10ft Tanalised Wooden Summerhouse has been crafted from pressure-treated softwood, specifically, Swedish Redwood, using a process commonly known as Tanalising. This procedure involves impregnating the timber with an environmentally-friendly wood preservative, Tanalith E, under controlled conditions within a vacuum-pressure timber impregnation plant.
During this process, the preservative chemicals become permanently embedded in the timber, making them impossible to remove. Occasionally, this treatment may leave a green residue on the surface, which typically disappears with use. It’s important to note that this residue is not harmful and does not constitute a blemish. Rather, it’s a characteristic that can occur due to the treatment process. As we mentioned above, you can use wood stain to change the colour of your garden building to a preferred shade.
